Mindy's head shot

I know I've said it a million times, but I love NaNoWriMo! It feels amazing to have an excuse to set aside even more writing time than usual (and I already spend the time my girls are in school and after they go to bed writing).

I love this novel! I wasn't sure about the title at first, but it's really growing on me, so my new MG just might remain...The Wall. It's so incredible to watch the characters and story come alive like this. I've had so many wonderful surprises, and can't wait to get back to my WIP (maybe after my girls go to bed...I definitely owe them some quality Mommy time).

Congrats to everyone who took the NaNoWriMo plunge. Go, go, go! I know we can all make our goal this month.

Thanks, Jessica. By the way--my main character's name is Jessica, although most people call her Jess. :)

Thanks! My fingers are a little sore, but I am really enjoying this. I had thought about starting my new WIP a couple months ago, but decided to work on some revisions so I could write it during NaNo.

God, I wish I had your writing time! Between working three jobs and taking a grad class, I'm barely making the minimum daily word count!

But I'm doing it ... even if it actually takes me 30 days this year. :)

I know you'll find a way to make 50,000 words this month, even with all your jobs and grad class. Last year, you had some of the highest word count days I've ever seen!

I can't wait to hear your new novel when you finish your night time class and return to our monthly group!

GOGOGOGOGOGOGOGO! You are way ahead of me, but I am plugging along as well. It feels great to tell myself to GO ON! YOU CAN'T STOP! when I feel I want to venture off and do some research or perfect a paragraph or figure out what setting details to perfect. No time for perfection. Just go.
It's a whole different way of writing for me. Wheeeeeeeee!!!

Thanks, Tayna. I am so glad you decided to take the NaNo plunge. It's an exhausting month, but it definitely encourages you to make writing a priority--and it feels amazing to start with a blank file and have a whole new novel to mold and polish in 30 days or less! It used to take me months to write a first draft before NaNo.

I'm glad you're enjoying it! And I can't wait to hear more about your novel.

Have a great weekend. :)

Thanks, Lauren. Congrats for all your great progress, too! We're both way ahead of the word count Chris Baty says we should have!

I hope you have another fabulous writing day tomorrow. :)

Thanks, Sharon. My fingers are a little sore, but it feels great! I'm already excited about revising this novel, but will make sure I hold off until I make my 50,000 word goal (and finish the rough draft).

It's so different than anything I've ever written. And in so many ways, it feels like all the pieces are just falling into place, like they did for Bra Girl. Yes, I still have a lot of revising ahead, especially working in things I didn't find out until later in the manuscript. But I love, love, love this and can't wait to revise it and run it through SR. :)

Thanks, Brenda. At first, I didn't think the title would stick, but it applies on a few different levels, so I'm keeping it--at least until an agent or editor asks me to change it.

How is your NaNo project coming along? I hope the words are flying. :)
