I love a challenge!

Mindy's head shot
Yesterday, I wrote my seventh picture book manuscript in a week, thanks to the seven in seven day challenge called NaPiBoWriWee on http://paulayoo.com/. I've been a huge fan of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) for the past three years, and love writing the first draft of a novel in less than thirty days. This is the first time I've participated in a picture book challenge. I love the quirky surprises that popped up due to the quick pace, and can't wait to revise my new manuscripts and send them through my critique groups.

Thanks to Paula Yoo for coming up with this fun challenge! I can't wait to participate again next year.

Holy Moly
7 in 7 is crazy! I can't even imagine having 7 original ideas in 7 days. But, alas, that is why I'm not longer a Proser.

Good luck with the mss! I tip my hat to you.

Re: Holy Moly
Thanks, Kai! It feels great to have so many new manuscripts to whip into shape. I don't think I would have written more than one the entire week (or maybe month) without this challenge.

I miss seeing you in the Prose Shop! How is your writing coming along?

Yay Mindy! Knowing the writer you are, I'll bet you did a bang up job on them.

I was thinking of giving it a try but soon realized that with all my medical treatments and my critique groups I'd be stretched way too thin...maybe next year.

I miss you, SR isn't the same without you. Say Hi to Mike and Susie in the Prose Shop for me

Thanks so much, Sharon. I don't know about a bang up job, but most of them are off to a great start.

How have you been feeling? I miss being in SR with you, too. I'd love to know how everything is going with Ned and your other stories. (((Hugs)))

I'll tell Mike and Susie you say hi.

Re: Wow!
Thanks, Pascale! It feels great to have seven new PB manuscripts to play with. I just ran one of them through my online PB group, and am thrilled that it's off to a very strong start.

I can't wait to see you this weekend--it's been too long.
